How can I see my card details?
In the WU+ app , on the Debit Card tab , under the visual card you can select the "Show details" option. Once you validate your account passcode or biometrics, you will be able to see your card details. If you wish to hide them, select the "Hide details" option.
How to top up my card?
If you have sufficient funds in your account, you can make transactions with your card. There is no need to top-up the card specifically.
Where can I find my PIN?
For your security, we are not storing your card PIN in the app. If you don't remember the card PIN, you set, you can always use the "Change PIN" feature in the WU+ app under the security settings.
How to change the PIN of my card?
Access your WU+ app and under the Debit Card tab, select "Security settings." Use the "Change PIN" option to create a new card PIN. As a next step, please make a chip and PIN card transaction like a balance inquiry or withdrawal at an ATM.
Do I have a PIN for my virtual card?
Virtual cards do not have a PIN.
How to freeze my card?
If you misplaced your card or need to stop making card transactions temporarily, you can use the Freeze/Unfreeze feature. Freezing and unfreezing your card is done via the WU+ app. Locate the Freeze/Unfreeze option underneath the virtual card representation. Please note that once your card is Frozen, you will not be able to transact with it. You must Unfreeze the card to enable transactions again. You can identify that your card is Frozen by the lock symbol, visible on the virtual card.
How to block my card?
Blocking or terminating your card will permanently disable it from transacting. Please get in touch with Customer Support via the "Report a problem" option in the debit card tab or call the team directly. If you think your card is lost, stolen or you have uncovered suspicious activity Customer Support can assist you with getting a new card.
How to control the usage of my card?
There are several options to control the usage of your card. You can use the Freeze/Unfreeze feature to disable transactions. You can enable card payment controls (located under Security Settings), such as allowing or disallowing ATM withdrawals or in-store/online card purchases. Please ensure that your card is not Frozen in order to select the payment controls.
How much money can I spend via my Western Union Digital Banking card?
o ATM withdrawals
Daily limits:
- 600 EUR for Germany and Italy
- 1.800 RON for Romania
- 2.000 PLN for Poland
Monthly limits (for the fixed period 1st to 30th/31st of every month):
- 3.000 EUR for Germany and Italy
- 7.000 RON for Romania
- 7.500 PLN for Poland
o Online and Instore card purchases

- 3.000 EUR for Germany and Italy

Can I change the limit on my cards?
You are currently not able to make changes to your card limits. If we enable this feature in the future, we will let you know.
Can I extend the contactless limit on my card?
Your Visa Platinum debit card is enabled for contactless transactions. Please make sure your card is active and you have completed at least one chip and PIN transaction to use the contactless feature. You are not able to make any changes to the contactless limits. The terminals you use will prompt you to make a contact chip and PIN transaction once you have exceeded the number of contactless transactions or limit. The current limit is 5 transactions or 150 EUR.
What is the difference between the virtual & physical card?
Virtual cards are like regular bank cards, but you won't receive a physical copy and the card details can only be accessed via the WU+ app. The virtual card is automatically generated after opening a WU+ account and is immediately available for online payments. A physical card is a traditional plastic card with the same card number as your virtual card and can be used to withdraw money from an ATM or for in-store purchases. Please note that once you activate your physical card the virtual card will be deactivated, and the virtual card details (Expiry Date & CVV) will be automatically updated into the WU+ app to the ones of the physical card.
Do I need a physical card?
We recommend having a physical card so you are not limited to transacting online. You can request a physical card in the WU+ app. If you have a standard WU+ subscription, you will need to pay a small delivery fee. You can at any time upgrade to WU+ Premium and you will receive the physical card for free.
What is 3DS and when is it needed?
3DS is a way of adding extra security to card payments made over the internet. We do this by asking you to verify and authenticate your payment via a one-time password sent to you by SMS (to the mobile number we have on file for you) before we approve the transaction.
How do I connect my card to Apple Pay/Google Pay?
We are working on enabling Apple Pay and Google Pay as soon as possible. We will inform you once this feature is ready for you to use.
